On March 27-29th 2026, Sollentuna SLK will be hosting the coolest alpine competition in Klövsjö, Steilhang Race. Both Friday's GS competition from the top of Klövsjöfjäll and Saturday's SL competition will be an exhilarating challenge and something out of the ordinary. The race will take place in the "Svartåshanget" slope, approved for the World Cup, with a vertical drop of 200 meters.
News for this year is that Sollentuna SLK also have the pleasure to host the The Swedish National Championship (SM) in the same event and races.
To build the excitement even further, we will follow up last year's success to alternate starting for both top 30 women & men on the 2nd slalom run. This will make top women & men racers arrive at the finish line almost at the same time to ge the crowd going! There will be separate categories for women and men, combined GS/SL prizes and with the prize ceremony taking place during the hotel's après-ski
As an extra flavour to the coolest alpine race weekend, Parallel Slalom has been added to the program, with direct qualifications for top 16 racers from the SL race and a qualification race on Friday evening.
A total of 100,000 SEK in prize money plus giveaways will be distributed in total for both Steilhang Race and SM. Prize money is distributed accordingly for Male and Female equaly:
Steilhang Race SL (the main Race):
1th - 16,000 SEK
2nd - 8,000 SEK
3rd - 4,000 SEK
The best SL U18 racers - 1,000 SEK
National Championship (SM) for each discipline (GS, SL, PSL):
1th - 4,000 SEK
2nd - 2,000 SEK
3rd - 1,000 SEK
The competitions takes place in perhaps Sweden's steepest slalom slope, "Svartåshanget" in Klövsjö, recently approved for the World Cup with a vertical drop of 200 meters and a gradient of 38 degrees.Show slope
Sollentuna Ski Club's vision with the competitions is to organize an annually recurring event that will maintain a high international standard and attract skiers from all over the world.
In 1981, competitions were held in Klövsjö where the entire world elite was present, with Ingemar Stenmark as the main attraction.
The Steilhang Race competitions started in 2022 by Sollentuna Ski Club in Svartåshanget, aiming to be a spectacular event with substantial prize money in one of Sweden’s steepest runs. From 2024, a giant slalom race was added, also ending in Svartåshanget. It has focused on nice material prizes but no prize money.

Tillsammans med våra samarbetspartners vill vi skapa en unik inramning av tävlingen. Där både åkare och publik får en helg full av aktiviteter med representanter från våra samarbetspartners där det bland annat finns möjlighet till skidtest, vallaprovning. Klövsjö Hotell arrangerar Afterski med liveband och i samband med den genomförs prisutdelning för lördagens race.
Event programIca supermarket Svenstavik, Arla, Dotshot och Bennys bistro kommer att finnas på plats och erbjuda utvalda produkter.
Efter tävlingarna och på hotellets afterski kommer prisutdelningen
hållas där vi hoppas på en riktigt bra uppslutning för att hylla dagens vinnare.
Skistar, Fischer och Start är på plats där det kommer finnas möjlighet till test av utrustning, vallor och skidor.

In the area where Svartåshanget is located today, the parallel slalom competition Blizzard Cup was held during Easter 1981, featuring the biggest international stars of alpine skiing at the time, including Ingemar Stenmark, Steve Mahre, Bojan Križaj, and Stig Strand. The event was a huge success with 18,000 visitors.
In preparation for Klövsjö's application for the 1986 World Cup, the current route of Svartåshanget was built. It is almost 500 meters long, with a vertical drop of 200 meters and the steepest section inclined at 38 degrees. Unfortunately, no competition was held there.
Svartåshanget is now Sweden's newest competition slope, homologated for competitions in the autumn of 2021, with a truly challenging profile.
